We talk a lot about the importance of constantly improving and certifying our digital skills. But how to prepare to get the certificate? What to pay attention to? Finally, what’s the procedure of DIMAQ examination? Aleksandra Malicka – Digital & Brand Manager of Fiat & Abarth brands – shares her experience with the certification process in the next interview from the DIMAQuestion series.

How long have you been a holder of a DIMAQ certificate? What motivated you to get it?

I got my DIMAQ certificate in February 2021. DIMAQ is first and foremost proof of the level of the competencies and skills you have gained over the years of work in marketing and digital. Personally, I wanted to systematize my knowledge and have it officially verified by getting a certificate recognized in the market and in the marketing industry.

How many people in your business environment have any digital credentials?

I know several people from my closest environment who are holders of the DIMAQ certificate. These are both my colleagues from the marketing department and the media planners from the media house with which we work very closely when planning 360 campaigns. The certificate is certainly becoming more and more popular in the industry.

What’s your opinion about the course of the exam itself? Would you say that the rules and questions were worded clearly?

The questions were not the easiest, they were quite tricky. And there were a few tasks that required calculations. This proves that you need to understand the issues covered not only in theory but also in practice. They won’t pose a challenge to an experienced marketer.  You should definitely go over your recorded answers again before finishing the exam, as it may turn out you may want to change your mind in some cases at the last minute. Also, the atmosphere before and after the exam was very friendly.

What would you recommend to those who are planning to take the exam? What should they focus on in particular when preparing for it?

First of all, read the exam questions very carefully. You should also carefully learn the definitions of all the different marketing terms – without ignoring the details. After all, this is where the devil is, right? I also think you need to do some reading and study quite a bit before the exam itself.

How do you think the certificate is perceived in the job market?

The certificate is mentioned increasingly often in job advertisements, which shows clearly that the market is placing more and more emphasis on structured knowledge and certified digital and marketing skills.
